Featherwood Trails Development: Boundary Planning and Traffic Impacts at Netherwood Road and Fish Hatchery Road
Featherwood Trails Development, Boundary Planning, and Traffic Impact Review
The Village of Oregon Board is considering the proposed Featherwood Trails development, located in the Town of Oregon.
Village staff has recommended approval of the development. At the same time, the Town of Oregon has initiated a cooperative boundary-planning process by adopting a resolution authorizing development of a boundary agreement under Wis. Stat. § 66.0307. In an October 8, 2026, memorandum, the Village Administrator recommended that the Village take no action on the Town’s resolution.
Transportation impacts are also under review. The Dane County Highway Department and the Town of Oregon have requested that the Village expand the Traffic Impact Analysis (TIA) to evaluate the intersection of Netherwood Road and County Highway D (Fish Hatchery Road). According to the Village Public Works and Community Development Department’s September 4, 2026, memorandum, Village staff recommends against expanding the TIA.
These matters may have long-term implications for Town residents, Town-maintained roads, transportation safety, infrastructure planning, and future municipal boundaries.
