The Village of Oregon has planned construction beginning in June 2026 that will impact County Highway CC. The Village will be working with its contractor to establish a detour route to Village Hall and the Post Office using local Village streets.
Despite the official detour, it is likely that Netherwood Road will experience increased traffic this summer as motorists seek alternate routes, particularly after navigation applications such as Google Maps reflect the road closure. Please be aware of the potential for higher traffic volumes.
The Town will be notifying the Dane County Sheriff's Department of the anticipated increase in traffic and requesting that they monitor Netherwood Road, including enforcement efforts to keep heavy trucks off the roadway.

The project is centered on the intersection, with east-west limits extending approximately 600 LF each direction along CTH CC (total length ~ 1,200 LF). - installation of traffic signals at the intersection
- replacement of the roadway surface with new aggregate base material and asphaltic surface
- installation of curb and gutter
- installation of curb ramps
- grading for future sidewalks and a multi-use path
- replacement / upgrading of storm sewer including swales, inlets / catchbasins, manholes, and storm sewer pipe
This project is a joint Village of Oregon / Dane County Highways project. The contractor for the project is Rock Road Companies, Inc. The bid was awarded to Rock Road Companies by the Village Board on March 2, 2026.
