Dane County Highway has removed Town Street Signs from the Dane County stop sign posts.  The town will be working at replacing the signs with new posts at those intersections.   

To all Dane County Municipalities:

This is a reminder that Dane County does not permit local units of government to place street name signs on top of any County maintained STOP signs or STOP sign posts.  This is not allowed for liability reasons and follows guidance located in the Wisconsin Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD – highlighted on the page attached).

Any street name signs found on top of County maintained stop signs will be removed by our crews.
