Siren Test Tomorrow May 8th at Noon: MEDIA RELEASE Siren Test Tomorrow May 8th at Noon   Contact: Carrie Meier  608 / 444-4827 Meier.carrie@danecounty.gov Date: Ref #: May, 7, 2024 20240507-# Available at: www.countyofdane.com   MONTHLY SIREN TEST MOVED TO TOMORROW –                                  WEDNESDAY MAY 8TH, 2024   Dane County Emergency Management will be conducting the monthly test of the Outdoor Warning Sirens this Wednesday, May 8th, at 12 noon, unless there is an immediate threat for severe weather for Dane County. The sirens will be sounded for the typical three minutes. The past two monthly tests of the Outdoor Warning Sirens were cancelled due to active winter weather and a time-critical emergency incident in progress during the regularly scheduled monthly test time. The Outdoor Warning Sirens are typically tested on the first Wednesday of the month at 12 noon. Two severe weather events have caused activation of the system this year, so far, and we have full confidence in the newly installed Federal Signal system. With severe weather season upon us, Dane County Emergency Management believes a full test of the system is important to ensure the whole county-wide system is functioning without issue.   Dane County Emergency Management is committed to maintaining a reliable Outdoor Warning System. The 2016 Town of Oregon Open Book will be held at the Oregon Town Hall, 1138 Union Road on Thursday, May 12, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday, May 14, 2016, from 10:00 p.m. to Noon.  Appointments are not required.

Open Book is an informal meeting with the assessor to ask questions and review assessment records. 

Property Owners are encouraged to attend the open book to verify the assessment of their property.  In addition, property owners can learn how their assessment was calculated, compare your property to similar properties, verify open land acreages and valuations, and learn how market activity affected the assessment.

The 2016 Town of Oregon Board of Review will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  To appear at the Board of Review, it is required that an appointment is scheduled 48 hours prior to the start of Board of Review.  Appointments are scheduled with the Clerk’s Office at 835-3200.
