This process will include using a racial and social equity lens to hear from residents regarding their concerns and priorities for Dane County government through a combination of surveys and focus groups. County Board Chair Patrick Miles shared “this will also be another opportunity for the public to engage with the County Board and have their voices heard. I encourage members of the public to participate and share their input.” As members of the Dane County community ourselves, we are thrilled to be working with the County to ensure all voices in the community are part of the critical process of informing county priorities for the years to come. County Highway A Construction

County Highway A
Starting Intersection: CTH D
Ending Intersection: CTH MM
Dates: August 2021 to September 2021

 

Project Information

Dane County will replace culverts, widen the base and place new pavement on 5.67 miles of CTH A between CTH D and CTH MM south of Oregon. This project will widen CTH A from 22 feet to 28 feet to make 2-11’ lanes and 2-3’ paved shoulders. Dane County crews will also construct a 1’ gravel shoulder on each side after paving is completed.

 

Traffic Control: The road will be closed to thru traffic but open to local traffic during construction. Residents are encouraged to slow down and proceed with caution for the safety of the work crews. A marked detour will be posted directing thru traffic to use CTH D, CTH M, US 14 and CTH MM around the section of closed road. Culvert replacements will close CTH A at several locations early in the project, and local traffic will need to find alternate routes around the closures during construction.
