2025 Spring Election filing period starts Dec. 1: Candidates seeking ballot access for the April 1, 2025 may begin circulating nomination papers  The Town of Oregon will have One Town Board Chair position and Two Town Board Supervisor positions up for election.  The Spring Election is April 1, 2025.  The Spring Primary is February 18, 2025 (if needed).  The candidates must submit nomination papers.  Information is below and available at the clerk's office. 2025 Spring Election filing period starts Dec. 1 Beginning Dec. 1, candidates seeking ballot access for the April 1, 2025, Spring Election may begin circulating nomination papers. Candidate Checklist The Ballot Access Checklists for both state and local offices are available here: Candidates The checklists assist candidates in qualifying for ballot placement. They may be reproduced and given to your candidates, along with the proper ballot access forms: CF-1: Campaign Finance Registration Statement EL-162: Declaration of Candidacy We also recommend that you direct your candidates’ attention to WEC’s Getting on the Ballot page. It is a good resource for both candidates and filing officers to prevent errors on nomination papers and avoid challenges. Non-Candidacy Notification - For the 2025 Spring Election, any incumbent officeholder for state office who does not intend to seek re-election should file a Notification of Noncandidacy Form (EL-163) no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 27, 2024. The EL-163 is available from the Wisconsin Elections Commission website. Type A Notice The Wisconsin Elections Commission recently sent county clerks the Type A Notice for the 2025 Spring Election, which contains all state level and judicial offices to be elected throughout the state. Note: If a Circuit Court judge resigns on or before Dec. 1, 2024, that office will be up for election at the 2025 Spring Election. If a judicial vacancy occurs during this period, we will contact the affected county clerks with an amended Type A Notice.

Final Town of Oregon Parks and Open Span Plan (POSP)

The final Town of Oregon Parks & Open Space Plan (POSP) is now available for review. Final Parks and Open Space Plan   The Oregon Town Board will be considering adopting the POSP at the December 10, 2024 town board meeting.  The town park committee with the assistance of the Dane County Planning and Development have been working very hard within a 6-month timefraome to update a 42-year old plan that had not been revised or revisited.  Park Committee Chair Dave Frankson said, “The Commitee did an amazing job in getting this to the finish line and coordinating it all with with Dane County Planning Department.  I applaud the rest of the committe for their dedication and hard work in completing this project.”
