Road Closure Notice – Netherwood between North Burr Oak & Cusick Parkway from Village of Oregon

Just another update on our pumping plan and road closure plan.

The amount of rain we have been receiving has been fairly low and we are actually caught up on pumping at the Cusick Parkway area.  In the next day or so, we will likely cease pumping on an interim basis and open the roadway.  The amount of water coming from Lake Barney area has decreased, however it continues to flow.  Once we stop pumping, the Cusick Pond will fill within 6-8 hours and will again overtop the pond into the Thysse marsh.  This isn’t as concerning as when the flows are very high and it begins to flood out Josh Below’s property.

My plan is to have my guys pull the piping to the side of the road and open the roadway likely on Thursday afternoon.  We will see how the area operates and modify as necessary.  Traffic volumes are obviously WAY down so the road closure has not been a significant issue.  It would be nice to have it open again.  I will send out a notice once it is open.

Thank you all for your patience.  Stay healthy!
